Writing is more than just simply putting words together. You continuously read what you wrote. While you are reading, you are also speaking it out loud in your mind—and hearing yourself do it. Reading your text aloud is a good way to find out the errors in your writing. Also if it is read by someone else—it gives a different perspective. As the other person is reading what you wrote, that person will try to understand the emotions only by reading those texts. And this is where a text-to-speech tool plays a big role.
A text-to-speech tool in Edge
Read Aloud feature on Microsoft Edge browser is a great helper feature. For researchers who read PDFs, blog post writers, or writers in general and also avid Audiobook listeners. If you do not have any other ways to get your hands on a text-to-speech tool, use this!
Some Use Cases
- Eyes are burning after the PDF flashbang? Close your eyes and listen to the PDF; Or read the text while listening to it.
- Have a book in PDF format and OCR enabled? You can get a simpler audiobook experience from it.
- Do you need to understand the tone of your post or writings? You can use it as the assistant who reads it out to you, allowing you to adjust the text or punctuation to make it sound the way you want it to sound!
- Slow at reading non-native language ? Use it as an assistant that reads out what you are trying to read. Learn the intonation and pronunciation of the words in a sentence by reading and listening at the same time.
You can think of tons of ways to make it usable for you! It will definitely help you improve your writing style and reading capability. I used it to write this blog post, and I definitely see how it helped me set the tone of this post. If you haven't tried it, give it a try!
